In Buddhism, Sunyata (Śūnyatā), often translated as emptiness or voidness, is a central concept that signifies the absence of inherent existence or self-nature in all phenomena. It's not about nothingness, but rather the understanding that things exist in relation to other things, and that nothing possesses an independent, unchanging essence.
공 (sunyata, 空) has the following universal characteristics:
Impermanence)—Everything changes. The person you were a moment ago is different from the person you are now.
No Self)—There is nothing that can be called an independent you.
Dependent Origination)—Every phenomenon is a result of causation.
"無自性空" is a Buddhist term, combining "無自性" meaning "without self-nature" and "空" meaning "emptiness." It implies that all existence lacks a fixed substance or inherent nature. In other words, all things are volatile, arising and disappearing according to causal relationships, and there is no fixed entity that exists on its own.
